Shop Holistic is located in a thriving Business Park on the edge of an Industrial Estate, only 1 mile from the centre of Caerphilly town and easily accessible by public transport.

The Industrial Estate has a nursery/creche (Bedwas House nursery) within a few hundred yards from our premises, there is a Premier Inn Hotel within 1/4 mile and there are good facilities for staff on the estate and surrounding areas.

We are a small family team and we employ a small team covering areas such as Pack & Despatch, Aromatherapy Preparation, Customer Services, Product Preparation and Stock Handling, Technical Support & General Office Duties.

Pack & Despatch Clerk
We require a mature and experienced person to work in our busy mail order company. The position will be responsible for stock control, packaging of products, the packing and despatch of customer orders and providing customer services assistance.
The position is permanent and subject to completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months.

Hours of Duty: TBA but will possibly be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9.30am - 4pm
There is a half hour lunch break each day. Holiday entitlement is 28 days (pro rata) including bank holidays. 

Whilst the advertised hours will appeal to those with children in school, please be aware that it is essential that you are able to remain flexible, available to work up to 5pm if needed and additional days for cover of staff leave/sickness. Due to the nature of the work, occasionally working later may be without notice as we rely on courier collections! 
Overtime paid as time in lieu. Also very occasional weekend work when trading at health shows and festivals may be required.

Salary: The wage for the position is dependent on age and experience (an example is £7.00 per hour, based on someone over 21 years with experience in similar roles).

Responsible to the Customer Services Supervisor and Warehouse Manager (dependent on which task you are doing), the general duties that will be required are:

~ Packaging of products including food grade items
~ Daily preparation of customer orders
~ Processing of post and courier despatch
~ Customer Services via phone, in person and email 
~ Online processing of customer orders
~ Stock control
~ General duties such as cleaning, filing, tidying & tea-making (shared by all)

As a suitable applicant for this position, you will be competent and confident using computers including practical knowledge (personal or professional) of internet shopping. You will be organised, tidy and work with excellent attention to detail. Good telephone communication skills are essential and you will have the ability to deal with the public in a friendly, confident and professional manner. No formal qualifications are necessary, but you will possess excellent numeracy and literacy skills with neat handwriting. It is advantageous to have previous experience of stock control, while experience of working in an office environment and/or warehouse environment is essential. You have the ability to prioritise your own workload, and will be equally happy to work on your own as well as part of a small team. The ability to work under your own initiative is imperative. You will have an open mind to Holistic & Natural Health, and while it is an advantage to have some knowledge in this field, you will receive training and information in this area. You will be willing to give 100% as we are seeking individuals who will care for our business as if it were their own. You will be trustworthy, honest and reliable and enjoy being a key member of our small team. You will be able to work calmly under pressure at busy times, and have the initiative to keep yourself busy at quieter times. 

Future prospects
As our business continues to develop and grow, there may be opportunity to progress into supervisor and managerial roles in the future for the right candidate, and depending on business and staff requirements at the time.

This position requires the ability to occasionally work with heavy items (a manual handling course will be provided).
